AeroVironment offers the Quantix drone. It is a high-quality, commercial-grade unmanned air vehicle. It can be used to collect data and analyze the results, and can communicate with a Decision Support System (DSS) compatible with other unmanned systems. The drone's unique vertical takeoff/landing motion gives it a greater range than traditional unmanned aerial vehicles. The drone can travel 40 miles per hour, but the price is still unknown.

Aerovironment & Draganfly have signed an exclusive distribution agreement. Draganfly’s drone, the Quantix Mapper, will be sold only by Aerovironment. Both companies are happy with the agreement and it demonstrates how different major drone industry players view each other. Patrick Imbasciani is Draganfly's Chief Operative Officer. He explains the reasons for this partnership. The company will continue providing contract engineering services for AeroVironment, while also providing distribution to customers throughout the world.

AeroVironment

AeroVironment's Quantix unmanned aerial vehicle is now available. The Quantix robot systems leader is multi-domain and designed for farm usage. It features a one-meter wingspan, carbon fiber spar reinforcement, vertical takeoff and landing, and a data analytics ecosystem. It can automatically scan land for signs such as crop stress, water problems, and yields. The drone does not require any training and can be used even by farmers with very little experience.

The Quantix combines vertical takeoff and landing, making it compatible with many unmanned systems. It can fly for up to 45 minutes, covering an area of up to 400 acres. It is compatible with AeroVironment’s Decision Support System as well as other unmanned systems. It can fly vertically, but it quickly changes to horizontal flight when in the air. This gives it more range. AeroVironment claims that the drone can travel 40 miles per hour and more features are planned.

Quantix Recon comes with a ruggedized Ground Control Station tablet, which can be used in the field by operators. The unit comes with an airframe and three batteries. It also has spare propellers. It's easier to maintain and can be replaced with parts than other models. Quantix's Recon is less vulnerable to damage, so it's less likely to be damaged or need replacement. The Quantix Recon's camera as well GPS and software are all built into the tablet's operating system. Operators can access them even without an internet link.

FAQ

What law applies to drones that fly over private property?

New rules have been issued by the FAA for commercial drone flying. These rules apply to UAVs with a weight less than 55lbs and that fly at a height of below 400 feet from the ground. Commercial operators must register at the FAA and apply for a license. Local authorities must also approve them if they are operating near airports or in other restricted areas.

What US states do drones are legal in?

You can legally operate a drone for hobby purposes. The Federal Aviation Administration has created guidelines to allow small unmanned aircraft system (UAS) use. Before they can be flown, these UASs need to be registered with FAA. If certain conditions are met the FAA will allow commercial operators to fly these drones.

What type of batteries can a drone use to charge its batteries?

Drones are powered by lithium-ion battery. A typical drone runs on between 3 and 6-volts.

How To

How to Repair a Damaged Motor on a Drone

You must first identify the damaged part of your motor before you can fix it. It is easy to do this by removing the propeller shaft from the motor shaft. Next, remove all wires from the motor shaft and inspect the internal workings. If you find something wrong, it is time to identify the problem.

If there are no damages to the motor you don't have too much to worry about. However, if your motor looks anything like these images, then you will need some parts replaced before you can fly.

Imagine a motor that isn't turning anymore because it has been bent. The motor must be bent again. To hold the motor in place, you can use a pair or vice grips. After this is done, you should inspect the motor carefully for any signs or wear.

Once everything is fine, place the propeller onto the motor shaft. You are now ready for your drone to fly.
