Quadcopters UK, an online drone shop, sells everything from racing drones and recreational drones. Drones of top brands such as FrSky and TBS are available at an affordable price. You will also find information on legacy drones, and No-Fly Zones. Regardless of what kind of drone you are interested in, you are sure to find it at Quadcopters UK. These are some helpful tips to help you get started.

Recreational drones

The UK has strict regulations regarding recreational drones. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has just opened registration requirements for drone owners. This includes an online theory check. Before they fly their drones, those with drones less that 250 grams must register them with the CAA. These rules regulate drone flights in specific areas. The CAA can answer any questions you may have about drone laws.

Commercial drones

The introduction and use of commercial drones is likely sparking debate and creating new rules. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) recently reported a large increase in permissions to use unmanned aircraft systems. These aircraft are able to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and offer new services. There are risks. Unmanned aircraft systems may cause accidents or damage to humans, and can be misused accidentally. This can lead to thousands of flight interruptions. A new regulatory framework is necessary to protect the public from such incidents.

No-fly zones in the UK

The UK government announced plans to expand no-fly zones for drones around airports. These areas will increase from one kilometer to five kilometers. After the recent Gatwick incident, Heathrow bought drone anti-drone system. The new rules set by the government will ensure drones do no pose a threat to passengers or airport workers. The UK is leading the fight against drone crime and regulation. It is a crime in the UK to fly a drone more than 400 feet and within five km of an airport. If convicted, you could face significant fines and even a life sentence.

Legacy drones

It is important to understand the rules if you are considering flying a Legacy Drone within the UK. In general, these aircraft can only be flown in open fields, not in residential areas. Operators must keep at least 150m from buildings and people, just like other aircraft. However, they are allowed to fly up to 2kg unmarked legacy drones in A3 Subcategory of Open Category, which is a bit less restrictive than its predecessors.

Nano-drones

A nano-drone refers to a miniature unmanned aircraft vehicle. Developed by Norwegian firm Prox Dynamics, these tiny drones are small and lightweight. The purpose of these miniature drones is to offer situational awareness over the ground and air. Due to their small size they are able to pass over most obstacles easily. The government of the United Kingdom has contracted a company for the development of 160 Nano drones. The contract costs twenty million sterling pounds.

How To

Repairing A Damaged Drone Motor

First, identify the broken part of the motor to repair it. The easiest way to do this is to remove the propeller from the motor shaft. You should then remove the wires that are attached to the motor, and examine the inner workings. If you notice something amiss, you'll know what part of your motor to fix.

If there are no damages to the motor you don't have too much to worry about. However, if your motor looks anything like these images, then you will need some parts replaced before you can fly.

Imagine that the motor has become bent to the point it will not turn. The motor will need to be bent back into its original shape. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you're done, check your motor for signs of wear.

Once you're satisfied that everything's ok, put the propeller back onto the motor shaft and reattach the wires. Your drone is now ready for flight!
